Warlock WiP

Hey guys,

got my first mage kit is in today which I needed for my warlock conversions. It was a lot of work up to the points I am now and it isn't finished yet. I just wanted to let you all take a look and find out what you think of it so far.

Warlock WiP

As you can see I used a Wood Elf spear I had lying around as a which blade. Now I know a lot of people might be getting offended and go but that's no which blade it's a spear well I'm going to be playing it as a whichblade, I probably mix it up with some sword arms as well just to mix up the look of the unit as a whole.

Comments and Suggestions are more then welcome!

First battle evaluation.

500 Pts. Combat patrol

Beside that I also had my 1ste Battle today against another eldar army unfortunatlly no pictures (forgot to grab the camera). which is a same because the Eldar of my friend are beautiful I'll probably get you some pictures of them someday.

as for the battle it was very weird and strange to have so much movement at my dispossel. combined with the sheer fire power of my list it was always a trade of to either move or shoot.

His list consisted of 2 x8 DA with exarch with dual shuri and blade storm and 5 warpspiders with exarch with dualcats, and an exarch with a warppack and fusion gun.

Mine was 2 x 6 Jetbikes with 1 Shuricanon and 3 vypers with shuricanons and scatterlasers.

the game was a Dawn of war deployment and with the objectives. In short the game was pretty hard for me it being my 2 5th ed game and 1ste Saim Hann game. I tried to get the moust out of my shooting but because I wasted a lot of movement getting away from cover to get a Clear LOS I usually had to move more then 6"and couldn't fire the Shuricanons on my vypers. in the End I managed to kill 1 DA unit and his Warpspiders with Autarch unit. I lost 6 Bikes in the proces (damm that 18"shooting from DA is annoying). I still had 2 units of bikes and all my vypers with 2 more turns to go so he called the game in my favour as it was time to get some Food.

Lessons learned:
- learn to eyeball distances better!
- 21 Shots at S6 is nasty!
- Warpspiders are fast, Be Carefull!
- Blade storm is as scary as I thoughed it would be!
- Don't hide to much since it costs a lot of movement to get clear LoS next turn!

overall a very nice first game which left me wondering how I am going to learn all this. It's hard to controll all that speed and balance it with shooting at the same time. All I can say is that I have even more respect for all you Saim Hann players out there. It's a lot harder then it looks

My 1K armylist

Hey guys just wanted to share my 1K list with you. This is the list I will be working towards for the time being. so without further chatter here it is:

1K Siam Hann

Farseer: 160 pts.
Jetbike, Doom, Fortune, stone

Warlock retinue: 275 pts.
5 warlocks, Jetbike, Destructor

Well I just loved the idea of a mounted Seer council so I decided to make on like Fritz over at way of Saim Hann. It's got all the toys it needs for 1K list challenges. Zoom and Boom is the main plan behind this unit, it's survivability is pretty good with Fortune and Doom combined with the Destructor Templates should be a Lot of fun. these guys are the Main shock element in my army.

6 Guardian Jetbikes: 142 pts.
1 schuriken canons

6 Guardian Jetbikes: 142 pts.
1 schuriken canons

well Here is the Troops section of my army. Cheap and fast, I choose to drop the 2de canon in favour of my 5th warlock. These guys should be speeding across the Field and enjoying there 3+ cover save.

2 Vypers: 120 pts.
2 Scatter Laser

Well these guys are there to haras and kill some Light tanks. they can still move fast at and claim some end game objectives.

Fire Prism: 160 pts.
Holofields, spirit stones

Main anti horde weapon. also pretty survivable and High S shot are nice for shock and awe. Off course nothing is nicer then Hitting his Termies at S9 Ap2 without partials!

Well that's the list I'm working at the moment Suggestions and comments are welcome but nothing to radicale. Hope you guys think I stand a chance.

Cheers CJ

Dragon Jetbike

Hey there people just completed the first prototype Jetbike for my dragon army

like all things it starts with an Idea and like you might have read in the first post and in the fluff my bikes are modern day dragons. After the First sketches I had to come up with some Paint shemes that would with the style and feel of the Bike. This resulted in going from this:

to this:

As you can see I still used the main Saim Hann colours Black and red. Eventually the rest of the model (read the rider) will also contain some white elements. But for now the bike will be Black and red. After making this decision I started the sculpting on the Bike and after first trying some Patches of greenstuff to work out a technique that looked good and was fast and easy I came up with the following Sculpt:

First Greenstuffed Jetbike

It took longer then expected and was a bit rough, but considering I have very little Greenstuff experience it was a Steap learning curve. But in the end I was pretty happy with it and decided it just needed colour before I could judge then end result. So Yesterday I took a day from school and sat down to paint it. It was a bit of a strugle since it had been a while since I last painted, but in the end the result was pretty decent. And this resulted in this Bike:

First Painted Jetbike

So what do you guys think of this paintscheme and sculpt? even though I'm pretty set on it comments and Suggestions are more then welcome.

Tales of the "Dragon Rider Host"

My First ever fluff story:

“Dragon Riders Host”
There exist in the Eldar mythic cycles a tale known as the Days of Cleansing.
In the ages long ago the Eldar shared their immortal lives with the cosmic dragons. These two life forms had lived in symbyosis for eons. This eventually led to a common bond of immortal being and understanding. But it was not always so.

After an eternity of mutual life the Eldar enjoyed the eternal trust of the dragons. To the Eldar the dragons were like mothers to a young and vital baby, but in the end true communication was impossible. However, the Farseer Aray’eh managed to link his spirit to one of the dragons. The dragon turned out to be on of the most elder of this race, henceforth named Far’oz’arialoth’de’kahe'arinatoc (meaning He Who Was First At The End Of The None) by the eldar. This linking of spirits meant that the Eldar could finally communicate with the dragons and eventually led to an age of true understanding and respect. And after some time the dragons paid the Eldar the ultimate respect: the right to ride on their back.

The linking of spirits that was needed for this communication was a dangerous ritual. This meant the Farseer or warlock had to go into the ethereal lair of the dragon and to live through Cleansing flame. This was the dragons way of knowing if the person in front of her was worthy of her knowledge. The ritual of the cleansing flame was both physical and mental: when the Eldar presented himself to a dragon she would engulf them in flames testing his psychic endurance and bodily stamina. This was not without risk, if the fire deemed the aspirant unworthy he would be burned alive.

This meant that only a small number of eldar would gain this bond. However when linked with a dragons spirit a great many secrets would be revealed to the Eldar. Tales of ages before the eldar existence would be seen in the spirit world with the dragons revealing the source and being of the Eldar.

These days of old would later been known as the Days of Cleansing as they brought about an age of wisdom and understanding.

However the Heavens were brewing with turmoil. The great war between Khaine and the Eldar began and in the coming fall the Dragons fought alongside the Children of Isha and Vaul in an attempt to beat the Bloody Handed One. But the dragons where no match for Khaine and their Cosmic shape was distorted beyond reason and they thrown from this plane of existence.

At the end of the war the eldar where still victorious but at a terrible cost. The had lost their dragons allies for ever. Their homes were burning with the blood of the dragons. Eventually the Eldar where able to rebuild their homes and temples but where forced to life out their days without the guidance of the Dragons.

But they would always honour their fallen Dragon brethren and the lives they gave to keep the eldar race from the brink of destruction. Until this day no one knows what ever happened to the Farseer Aray’eh and his dragon twin Far’oz. It is believed they still roam the skies in the Heavens, for ever keeping a watchful eye on the Dragon Rider Host.

“The Cleansing”
Since it is believed the great war had ended the age of the dragons the initiation ritual of the Host is impossible to carry out. But as a ritual, this was still of great importance to the dragon riders who had taken the Dragon as their symbol. The warlocks of the host, however, had been studying the dragons breath for ages and had found that they could do something similar.
They managed to create a psychic flame that would enter the very spirit of the person that gets hit by it. If the flame would find any corruption or evil thought the person would burn from his spirit to his flesh. For ever marking him as unworthy.

But if the candidate was pure of heart and soul he would emerge from the flames unscathed. After this they would be granted the honour of joining the dragon riders. After his initiation the candidate would be given a new spirit name to symbolise his rebirth from the blaze. This new name and rune now serve to identify him to his kinsmen

“The Dragon Bike”

In of their eternal protectors the Eldar of the Dragon Rider Host use Jetbikes covered in the Scales of the Dragons. These scales are said to protect they eldar when they enter the field of battle. So even in the days still to come the dragons will soar along the skies as they did in ages past.

In further deference the Farseer leader of every generation of the Host Aray’mal assumes the soul name Aray’eh and rides a bike made to resemble the legendary Dragon Lord Far’oz’arialoth.

I hope you guys liked it, and that it got you intrested to stay around.

Cheers CJ

The First Steps

Hello all of you out there. This is my little blog on my newest and fastest army. After readying the way of Saim hann blog from Fritz I got thinking about starting up a new 40K army. Having played a pretty slow and super resilient army (Necrons) I figured I might aswell go the other way. And so I decided to start a Saim Hann play style army, But with a new look.

After looking around in the codex and reading the existing fluff I figured I could make some for my own style of army. So instead of the standeard fluff story I designed my fluf
f and army style around the concept of dragons. They seem to have a very mystical look and feel to them which is something I wanted to bring to my Eldar army. So after making some sketches and looking at some colour shemes I came up with the following concept for my Jetbikes.

Farseer Jetbike:
Warlock/Guardian Jetbike:
( my apologies for the sketchy pictures but I like to hand draw my stuff)

This will be the main style in my army and will also find it's way onto my vypers and Fire Prism which are also in my first 1K list. So Keep a look out for some updates soon as I will be sculpting the First Bike soon.

Cheers CJ
