Prepering for this weekends tournament


Hello fellow bloggers and followers,

I'm currently hard at work getting the models for my GT army together and was fortunate enough to be invited for a small tournament this weekend so I'm in a mad dash to complete assembly of 1500 of the final 1700 points GT list to enter this tournament.

It will be my first test run with the nightspinners and looking forward to finally seeing them in action on the table top. So I will be taking a partially slimmed down version of the GT list shown on the top left:

big difference 1 DA squad less but 2 pintle mounted shurikan cannons extra on the Fire Dragon rides. Idea behind that is once I drop those off this guy will go gunboating (had the extra points anyway so might as well get some more fire power).

Hoping to see some of the new dexes as I've yet to play against the new blood angels/Wolves or Nids and only had one game against IG. So all in all it should give me some nice practise for the GT. Now I'm just hoping Nightspinners will be allowed at the GT.

I've spend the last 2 days assembling and magnetizing my wave serpents and 2 spinners so there all ready for the tournament and test games but still loose enough so I can take them apart for painting.

I Got to say 7 gravtanks look mighty impressive standing there in my window.

spider hate

Well had a bit of a downer today. I enrolled in a tournament here for 9 october, and was hoping to bring my GT with the new spinners and see how the are doing in the tournament beta. but I was told that since they aren't in the codex I can't use the new rules.

on the upside however Imperial armour is allowed so I guess I'm taking them as the IA Nightspinners with their 7" blast template and transport capacity so I altered my GT list to fit with the new restrictions and come up with the following.

I had to drop some stuff (4 Spiritstones) to get the more expensive IA spinners in but nou I have 6 scoring units in gravtanks with 2 7"blast templates dropping in. Still it brings me to the following when is something considered to be codex legal if added later. Hoping that the GT will allow the rules will be totally bumbed if they don't.

1700pts spider madness


After reading Silar's post at the fallen Princes I was tempted to refine my take on this concept within the restrictions of the tournament scene over here the 1700 pts. I came up with the following list:

using the Nightspinners to keep things slowed down together with the Pathfinders. While the enemy is being disturbed all of a sudden he is jumped by the Warpspiders. The Autarch providing me with some nice reserve boosts and Melta support to get those darned landraiders.

66 S6 shots combined with 2 melta's and 3 S6 largeblasts and 12 rending snipers shots is a scary thing not to mention the 24 powerweapon attacks on the charge.

think you can kill the spider, you'll end up in a sticky situation!
